Step 1:- Register by sending your full names to 21272 (charges Kshs 19). Alternatively, you can download the TransUnion Nipashe application on the play store for lesser charges.
Step 2- Enter your ID number.
Step 3- Select credit status
Step 4- Your status will either read ‘good’ or ‘default’.

Here are three simple steps to checking your CRB status on Metropol Corporation:-

Step 1- Register by sending Kshs 50 to the pay bill number 220388 with your ID number as the account name.
Step 2- You will receive a message containing a unique pin, link and reference number.
Step 3- Dial *433# and use the unique pin sent to you to proceed. You will receive a confirmation text with your CRB status.

As for CreditInfo, please fill out the request form on their website. If you are listed on CRB as a defaulter, you need to clear all the outstanding loans to access loans from other institutions.

An NHIF card is a medical cover acceptable in most public and private outpatient hospitals. It allows you to change to your preferred hospital at any time. This can be done online, so you no longer have to make long queues at the NHIF offices. Below is how you can do this in the comfort of your home.

Option one (NHIF Website)

Open the NHIF self-care portal
Enter your ID number and press enter to continue. A unique Pin will be sent to your phone.
Enter the unique Pin to verify your information.
Select or change your preferred outpatient hospital including your dependents.

Option two (NHIF Self-care App)

Go to Play Store and download the NHIF self-care app
Click on services
Enter your Identification number
Request for a unique Pin, which will be sent to your phone
Use the Pin to log in to choose or change to your ideal outpatient hospital
A screen with a list of your dependents will pop up so you can select or change hospitals for each.

Option 3 USSD

Dial *155# on Your Phone. NB You don’t need to have credit on your line.

All loan defaulters are usually listed on CRB, an institution tasked by the central bank to collect, store and share credit information. This automatically disqualifies you from receiving loans from other lending institutions.

Therefore it is essential to check your CRB status at least twice a year. Some bodies licensed to monitor loan defaulters include Metropol, TransUnion and CreditInfo. As such, you can check your status from any of them.

Below are steps for checking your status on all three platforms.

How to Know Your Credit Status on CRB

Metropol

Deposit Kshs 50 to pay bill number 220388.
Enter your ID number as the account number.
You will receive a message containing a unique code, a reference number, and a link will be sent to you.
Dial *433# and enter your ID number.
You will receive a text with your CRB report.

CreditInfo

Please fill out a request form on their website. Should the report contain wrong information, please fill out a Credit Report Dispute Form.

TransUnion

Send your full names to 21272
Enter your ID number
Select Credit Information
You will receive an SMS with your credit status

If the report reads ‘good’, it means you are safe, while ‘default’ means you are barred from accessing any loans. You may need to get a clearance certificate if asked during a job application or by a lender. The charges for obtaining this certificate are Kshs 2,200.
