Once you have a learner permit, the Provisional Driving License (PDL),
after completing your driver’s education course in a driving school, you must pass an NTSA road test exam to get your driver’s license in Kenya.

The NTSA Exam is a general name meant to describe a written test, multiple-choice test, and practicals that one must take before getting a driving license. It is a test booking for class endorsement in the driving license.

These exams are administered by driving test examiners (DTE) from the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), whose mission is to provide safe and efficient movement of pedestrians, goods, and vehicular traffic on Kenyan roads and highways by registering and licensing motor vehicles, conducting motor vehicle inspection and certification, regulating public service vehicles (PSVs), which are part of its mandate.

NTSA exam practice tips

The following steps will maximize your exam success chances:

* Obtain study materials such as test guides and practice tests that can help you understand the theoretical background and format of NTSA exams.

* Practice sample questions to familiarize yourself with the questions you will encounter on the actual exam. The most tested areas include knowledge of the rules of the road in general, road signals and signs, authorized road or highway codes, and physical fitness to drive a motor vehicle of the class for which the license shall be issued.

* Learn test-taking strategies that will help you manage your time within the time limit of your NTSA test and solve questions quickly.
