How to get KPLC refunds for token overpayment?

Kenya Power has over 4 million consumers on prepaid meters as the Company transitions to advanced technology that makes it easier for customers to purchase electricity. While buying tokens, if you make a blunder of overpayment, do not panic Kplc process the refunds in case of an overpayment. 

For example, you wanted to buy tokens worth 100 Ksh and instead buy tokens worth 1000 Ksh. You can get a full refund if you follow the below guide.

  1. Do not feed the tokens on the Meter. If you have exhausted the tokens, kindly do another transaction to avoid loading the overpaid tokens. 
  2.  Download a Token Refund/reversal form from the Kplc website   Click here to download 
  3. Filling the form and drop the form at the Kenya Power offices 
  4. The Technical team will call you and give instructions to feed the Meter. 
  5. Afterward, they will submit a report, and then the Refund will be processed to the Mpesa Number used.

How long will KPLC tokens refund take?

– It takes around seven working days to get the full Refund.

How to check the 2022 KCSE results online?

The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination results will be released by January 23, 2023, before schools reopen, according to Education Principal Secretary Dr. Belio Kipsang.

Below is a brief guide on how to check the KCSE results online.

Checking 2022 KCSE results online 

Open the KNEC website. And enter your index number to check your KCSE results online.

You only need to remember your index number and have access to your computer or mobile device to use this way to verify the results for 2022. The steps are as follows:

  • Check out the KNEC website https://www.knec-portal.ac.ke/
  • Locate and select the KCSE Results tab.
  • The year you took the exams should be chosen.
  • Lastly, press the “Submit” button.
  • After a moment, the results of your KCSE should appear on the screen.

To get the  KCSE results by SMS, send an SMS with your Index Number to 20076 for Safaricom, Airtel and Telcom networks. Send your full index number (11 digits) followed by KCSE to KNEC SMS Code 20076.

 

How to Apply for the New Digital Number Plate in Kenya?

The New digital number plates in Kenya were launched in 2022 to curtail fraud cases such as vehicle theft and terrorism. They have a QR code, serial number, microchip, hologram, and Kenyan flag. As such, all vehicle owners are required to replace their old ones. The New Digital number plates will cost you Kshs. 3,000 and Kshs 1,500 for motorcycle owners. The steps for acquiring this number on a digital number plate go as follows. 

  1. Log into the TIMs portal.
  2. Click Vehicle Registration
  3. Go to Reflective Number Plate and click apply.
  4. The page will redirect you to your list of vehicles. 
  5. Pick the vehicle you want and verify the details before clicking next.
  6. Give your reasons for applying for the reflective number plate, otherwise known as the digital number plate.
  7. Choose your preferred method of notification, i.e. sms or email.
  8. Pick the type of front and back number plate, i.e. oblong or square.
  9. Select the collection office
  10. Upload a copy of the original logbook and an image of the number plate in pdf form on the Lost/Defaced number plate and Tape Lifting report section. However, you won’t need a Tape Lifting Report.
  11. Confirm the details and pay Kshs 3,050 via Mpesa.

Once done, wait for NTSA to notify you via SMS and email to collect your digital number plate so you can start enjoying the benefits listed.

  7. Filled out application and recommendation form by Head Teacher, Provincial Adm., Religious Leader, and any other.
  • Scan and upload the document back to the system.
  • Click save changes to complete the process.
  • The completion and submission of this form is not a guarantee for sponsorship.
  • Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews.
  • Any false statements, omissions, or forged documents will lead to automatic disqualification.

if your identification card has been either lost or stolen, the very first thing you do is make a Report to the nearest police station.

If you require to replace your Kenyan Id you can visit The National Registration Bureau, which is in charge of the registration and issuance of ID cards in Kenya.

The bureau also provides an opportunity for Kenyans to replace lost or defaced IDs through the bureau offices, which are located within respective County Commissioners’ offices or chief’s camps.

 

How can I replace my lost National ID in Huduma Centre?

Huduma Centre also offers a replacement for lost National IDS. It takes about ten days to get this vital document. Take a look at the process below from start to finish.

  • Visit your nearest Huduma Centre.
  • If you have yet to apply for a police abstract from your local police station, you can still get one from the police desk at Huduma Centre.
  • Take the police abstract to the Identification desk.
  • You will be asked to pay Kshs.100 to process the new ID.
  • Fill out the replacement form correctly.
  • The helpdesk team will ask you for your passport photo and take your fingerprints.
  • You will be given a waiting card as your temporary identification document.
  • Once the ten days are over, return to Huduma Centre to pick up your new ID, and remember to carry the temporary card.

 

Please note that the above process is for lost IDs only. First-time applicants must visit the National Registration Bureau.

  • Select the loan request option to view the limit, interest, and loan tenure.
